July 2009 Newsletter

This month I want to talk about a common concern among sponsors on TexAgs.com: Posting Anxiety!

It’s certainly understandable that you might be nervous about makings posts on the TexAgs forums – the sheer number of people can be overwhelming, and occasionally other posters can get out of line.  However, don’t let that stop you!  TexAgs has about thirty moderators dedicated to filtering out objectionable content, and that includes anything people post about your business that is a personal attack, unfounded accusations, etc.  And if you do have a problem with a post someone makes, you can always call, text, or email me and I’ll get it taken care of ASAP.

Now you know that you can participate in the forums without fear, but why should you?
  • Participation in the discussions that take place on TexAgs is probably the most important thing you can do to make your sponsorship a success. We only let sponsors promote their businesses on TexAgs, and joining our members in discussions is a great way to gain trust and become an accepted member of the community. Don’t think you can or should only talk about your business, either. There’s tons to talk about on TexAgs, so pick your favorite subject and start talking, whether that’s Aggie Football, baseball, cars, politics, religion, regional discussions, or anything else.  You’ll probably enjoy talking with people so much it won’t even seem like "marketing", it’ll just be something you like to do!

(Please remember that posting on TexAgs to promote your business is a privilege held by paying sponsors.  If you’re considering a sponsorship on TexAgs, this is a great benefit you can look forward to!)

If you’d like to start participating but don’t have a user name on TexAgs yet, you can either email me, or head over to the registration page to create one:

Once you’ve got an account setup, you should want to add a signature line promoting your business. This will let you add a short phrase to the bottom of every post you make if you choose to (on the page where you write your post, there’s a checkbox to include you signature). To create or edit your signature, just go to the account page and scroll all the way to the bottom (don’t forget to click "save"!):

If you’d like your signature line to link to your website, just shoot me an email and I’ll gladly get that taken care of.

Any time you’d like assistance with posting on TexAgs, please email me!  I’ll be happy to help, whether it’s with posting images, links, editing a post for you, removing posts, or anything else.  I’m always here to help!
